Welcome to the website of the Boston Irish Wolfhounds.
We are a young club by American standards (founded 1989);however, our many members and players bring a vast amount of experience both on and off the field.
Are we an Irish Rugby Club in America?
The answer is “no”.
We are a Boston rugby club with an international membership. Though the majority of our players are American and have the familiar Boston accent, you’ll hear accents from around the globe.
Since the year 2000, we have been a very successful Rugby club, competing at the highest level in Division 1 Rugby in the USA.
2006 was a hugely successful year as both our Division 1 and Division 3 sides made the finals in the USA National Championships; a feat never accomplished in the history of US Rugby. This followed our success from 2003 and 2004 when we won back to back Division 1 National Championships. In 2007 our Division 3 side followed and won the Division 3 National Championship.
2007 presented a great opportunity for the club as we entered the Super League of US Rugby (RSL). As we continue to develop our players to compete at the highest level of rugby in the country, we have seen further success and improvement. A commendable D3 season in the fall of 2009 led to delegation to D2. We continue to field competitive teams in the RSL, D1, and D2.
We train hard and play Rugby to win. Our track record shows our commitment to Rugby and we are looking to repeat our success from the past few years.
If you have any questions about our club from membership to social, feel free to email any of the Club Officials, we will be only too happy to help you.
